Becoming like Christ for the sake of others

Blood Moon

Rebecca Faubion and her family moved to Austin, Texas over the summer. But before she left, Rebecca sent me a beautiful alphabetic poem with this note, “Pastor Jay – this came to me today as I was meditating on some Scripture. Wonderful Quote: “On days when life is difficult and I feel overwhelmed, as I do fairly often, it helps to remember in my prayers that all God requires of me is to trust Him and be His friend.  I find I can do that.”  — Bruce Larson (1925-2008, American pastor, writer and visionary)

Prayer Focus This Week…

  • Steve and Marie Krantz as they are on the home stretch of their Indonesian trip. Pray especially for health, strength, renewal.
  • For all caregivers of the sick and elderly. It is a great challenge.
  • Pray for the complete healing of Taffy Eagle, Dorrie Skadal, Ken Auster, David Kessner, Bev Blumenfeld
  • For sons and daughters who are away from the Lord
  • For the power of the Holy Spirit in all our lives
  • To be careful with the words we speak

Adrienne Stein attended our church a few years ago with attending LCAD. She has moved on to become a very successful painter. Here is one of her latest pieces, an oil on canvass, entitled “Blood Moon.”  It sold before the varnish had even dried.

Final Thought From Soren Kierkegaard: “Faith sees best in the dark.”

“Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen”  Hebrews 13:20-21
