Becoming like Christ for the sake of others

Pressing Prayer – Friday, March 27

Daily Prayer Message, For Friday, March 27

 Pressing Prayer

The reality of this virus is starting to hit close to home. So today, serious needs to start the Prayer Message. The first is someone who has visited our church, who wrote to the prayer slot on our website. We have contacted her and giving some help…

Friday’s Prayer Focus

  • “Our child has been diagnosed with covid-19. My husband is now ill and awaiting test results. We have both lost our jobs and health insurance as my employer was forced to close and has no money to pay me, not even my earned vacation, or time off, or legally mandated sick pay.  We have been quarantined by the Health Dept.  Me and my other child are trying desperately to avoid getting the virus but our home is relatively small and it is hard not to share spaces for necessities. We do not know what the future holds but ask for prayers for our health and to help get us through each day as it comes.”
  • Monica Thompson’s son Cole, living in New York, appears to have the virus. He has self-quarantined. Pray he recovers quickly.
  • Pray for Barbara who lives in Washington and is connected to an attendee in our church. Her husband died a two weeks ago from the coronavirus.
  • A few elementary schools are reopening to a handful of students, including John Pettit’s wife’s school, whose parents have essential jobs like first responders, health care workers, food and drug store clerks, etc. Asking the Lord to put a hedge of protection around the parents, students, school staff and all involved.
  • Baby Henry, born a couple of days ago, undergoing an 8:30 am operation today (Friday) to clear a valve (tissue blockage), to “knock down the dam so his system will flow.” Mother Tracy is friends with one of Little Church’s members.
  • Former Little Church member Barbo Goldstein, has been in and out of the hospital for the past five weeks. Her COPD and other illnesses put her in a very bad way. Barbo says, “My doctor put me in “lockdown” at end of February, never thinking that the whole of USA would be my partners. Doing better but must be on oxygen 24/7. We pretty much know what that means.”

Friday’s Scripture: Romans, chapter 8, called by Dr. J Vernon McGee from Thru The Bible Radio  “the heartbeat of the New Testament,” a superlative chapter of spiritual insight, ending with some of the most astonishing verses found in Scripture.

From Smith Wigglesworth:
“We must dare to press on until God comes forth through us in mighty power. May God give us faith, that the power comes down like a cloud!”
