Becoming like Christ for the sake of others

What Hinders Praying Tuesday, March 31

Daily Prayer Message, Tuesday, March 31

 What Hinders Praying

A Key to Joyous Prayer: Singing and making melody from the heart is a beautiful form of prayer. Many sing during a church service but few have discovered the joy of singing to God while spending time praying. Yet most of the Psalms were written to music so song, combined with petition, makes prayer truly enjoyable. It also annoys the enemy. Amy Carmichael once said, “I truly believe Satan cannot endure singing when I pray, and so slips out of the room.”

Prayer Hindrance
: “Not only does sin hinder prayer; prayer hinders sin.  The two are always opposed.  The more careless we are about sin, the less we will pray.  The more we pray, the less careless we will be about sin. Both sin and prayer are powerful forces. Which one is moving you?” — Dr. Alvin Vander Griend

Tuesday’s Prayer Needs…

  • President Trump – looking drawn and weary from giving leadership under the pressure of the coronavirus outbreak. It doesn’t matter if you like him or not. Please pray he gives wise leadership in the days ahead.
  • An accelerated ending to the coronavirus epidemic.
  • Ken Brooks, husband of Linda Jonason-Brooks, undergoing surgery on a cancerous ear problem. This is the second operation on the same area.
  • Recuperation for Chris Carr, close friend of Mary Deane, from cancer surgery.
  • Full health to Monica Thompson’s son Cole, recovering from the virus in New York.
  • Two friends of Little Church with beloved dogs. One lost her little furry friend a couple of days ago. The other is fighting to keep her dog alive, stricken with illness.
  • For those who have lost jobs, and others forced to close businesses, who are really hurting, wondering what the future might bring, and how they are going to survive.

Tuesday’s Scripture – Psalm 29; a powerful Word, extolling the power and might of our God. Pay close attention to verse 10 which says: “The Lord sat as King at the flood.” God ruled at the flood and God continues to rule in the face of this coronavirus.

Keep your head lifted up everyone. We are not alone.
