Becoming like Christ for the sake of others

Breathe Your Spirit, Tuesday, April 7

Daily Prayer Message, Tuesday, April 7, 2020

 Breathe Your Spirit

“Lord, breathe Your Spirit upon Your people, that they may learn to live for this one thing alone – for the Kingdom and glory of their Lord – and become fully awake to what their prayer can accomplish. And let all our hearts in this, as in every petition, be filled with the assurance that prayer, offered in faith to the living God, will bring certain and abundant answers.”  Andrew Murray

This is one of the greatest quotes on prayer I have saved. Andrew Murray (1828 – 1917) was a South African writer, teacher and pastor. I have loved his books over the years, especially when I was a young believer, as he had an ability to communicate the Word of God in a clear but passionate way.

May we all pray “and become fully awake to what prayer can accomplish.”

O Lord of Hosts, hear my prayer, give ear O God of Jacob (Ps 84:8)

Tuesday’s Prayer Focus…

  • England’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson, very ill with COVID-19
  • Continued protection for all our loved ones from the virus
  • Ken Brooks, ear surgery on Wednesday
  • Christina – young lady in Israel, battling lymphoma
  • Healing for Nick, Steve, Mark, all very ill, but not with coronavirus, all friends of our members

Tuesday’s Scripture: Psalm 145, a beautiful and all-encompassing Psalm, highlighted by an opening of wonderful worship, a favorite of mine.
