Becoming like Christ for the sake of others

Prayer for Friday, March 20, 2020

Daily Prayer Message

Why Should You Pray? Because prayer releases God’s will in the earth. It can change what appears to be unchangeable. It shows you care. It is a way to love others. It’s comforting. Encouraging. It builds faith and gives you a real connection with God. Because fervent, persevering prayer accomplishes more than you can ever imagine (James 5:16).

“Prayer is striking the winning blow; service is gathering up the results.  You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed.” S.D. Gordon (1859-1936) prolific author and lay minister.

For Friday March 20

** Happy to report Pastor Sam’s lovely Rebecca made it safely from Mozambique, South Africa to New York City (going through four checks and a couple hours of emotional intensity) and then safely to Los Angeles, arriving this afternoon. Thank you all for praying

Scripture for Today: Acts 2:37-47, the response of the people in Jerusalem to Peter’s mighty message on the day of Pentecost. Focus today is on verse 42 where you’ll see prayer was right at the foundation of all that was done.

And they continued steadfastly in the apostle’s teaching, in fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayer
