 Ideas For Isolation

Start your day with time for God. Without fail. You’ll need discipline. Do a few things every day. Ask God to cleanse you body, souls, spirit (Psalm 51:7). Present yourself afresh to God (Romans 12:1-2). Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). Read Psalm 27 most every day. Pray (Jeremiah 33:3). Think excellent thoughts (Philippians 4:8). Ask to be re-filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18-20.

Limit yourself to 10 or 12 minutes of the news. Call somebody on the phone. Text a friend. Ask how they are doing. Keep TV watching down. Take walks and sing. Spend extra time with neighbors as you walk. Keep six feet apart. Maybe ask if they have something you might pray over. Smile a lot. Stretch yourself to be utterly patient. Take a nap. Tell someone you love them. My suggestions, but I think they are good.

So Very Heartwarming: So much good is taking place right in the middle of this epidemic: From a Laguna local: “Thank you to the anonymous driver who was ahead of me in the Jack in the Box drive-through, around 6:30 Wednesday morning, and paid for my breakfast meal. I was on a grocery run for my elderly neighbors and stopped to get something to eat on my way to Ralph’s.”

Friday’s Prayer Focus…

  • I have a beloved friend who works at a health clinic in South Orange County. Pray for her protection and safety.
  • My niece Kimberly is a doctor at the biggest hospital in Denver, Colorado. Please pray for her protection and safety also.
  • From Mary French: “Pray for a young man named Brad, 34, hit with the COVID-19 virus.
  • Laguna Beach City Manager John Pietig has come down with the virus
  • A friend of mine in ICU, who suffered a possible stroke or heart attack
  • Another friend turned down for an Amazon job. They claimed she was too old. They have no idea what they have missed out on. She has a heart of gold and would have been perfect for the job.

Friday’s Scripture: Hebrews 12, one of the most significant and powerful chapters found anywhere in the Word of God. Read it slowly and you’ll discover so much that is pertinent and timely to what we are all going through.

Finally: So many of you believed my April Fool’s joke that I was taking a job with Amazon. Cracked me up. But lots of laughs which is really good for us right now.

Lots of love sent to you all.
