Becoming like Christ for the sake of others

Do Good Anyway 11/3/15

Words of Wisdom From the Pen of Mother Theresa of Calcutta…

“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may become jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”

When A Loved One Declines: Two weeks ago I asked us to pray for loved ones who are suffering from illness, and wrote how difficult it is to care for them as they begin to decline. Here is a wonderful response by a beloved friend. “I pray that you and all those you listed will be given the gift to see the beauty in your loved ones, as they are now, not comparing them sadly to how they once were. The activities, the ways of visiting and relating change, can still be very sweet and meaningful. When people are weakened and don’t get out, they may not have much to say, so I found that reading happy things, even children’s books to them, is a very pleasant way to connect. Of course singing to or with them is also great.”  Laurel Sternberg

From teacher/author/visionary Gene Edwards: “Our love for God is tested by whether we seek Him or we seek what He can do for us.”

PrayerLetter_20151103
“May the Lord make you to increase and excel and overflow with love for one another and for all people, just as we also do for you, so that He may strengthen and confirm and establish your hearts faultlessly pure and unblamable in holiness in the sight of God our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints, the holy and glorified people of God. Amen, so be it.” 1 Thessalonians 3:12,13 (Amplified)

Pulling for all of you this week.
