Becoming like Christ for the sake of others

When Your Heart Sings 6/28/16

An Epiphany: It was one of those moments that don’t come your way too often. Just a few minutes of complete joy. Where your heart sings and you are glad to be alive. For me it was a feast for my eyes after a time of busyness and weariness of soul. I stood there and marveled, just a few steps from my front porch, my bare feet sinking into green grass, the sun slowly dropping behind the low mountain range that separates the canyon and Main Beach. China roses, nasturtiums and bougainvillea were bursting with color. A yellow sparrow perched on a thin branch in a sycamore tree. It was an epiphany of beauty. But it was more than just natural beauty. The slight breeze that blew over my yard carried a sense of the supernatural, as if God was breathing.

From Bill Devlin (in response to the Father’s Day message): My dad never hugged me or told me he loved me, but one Father’s day when I was the father of 4 myself, dad gave me a box of 30 or 40 magazines with his cars in them (Bill’s dad built world-renown racing cars). The newest magazine had him on the cover, and inside he wrote, “To Little Bill, my first son whom I have loved and been proud of every moment from first sight and will until I pass on.” The Holy Spirit and I led my Dad to Christ 2 days before he passed, and his remains are buried in Arlington Memorial Cemetery, but his Spirit is with Jesus.

Pastor Sam made a recap video of footage from over the years of our seniors and played it for them at their last refuge. Here it is. Enjoy these wonderful memories:

“I will bless the Lord at ALL times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”  Psalm 34:1

Final Thought: God is honored and when we search for Him with all our hearts.
