And Adam said, “Lord, Since I disobeyed you, and we don’t walk together in the garden anymore, it is difficult for me to remember how much you love me.”
And God said, “No problem. I will create a companion who will love you. No matter how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this new friend will accept you as you are and will love you unconditionally, just as I do.”
And God created a new animal, and he wagged his tail all the time, and loved Adam. And God said, “I will call his name DOG, for he is a reflection of My name. And God was pleased. And Adam was happy and comforted.
But one day, Adam’s guardian angel said to the Lord, “Adam has become filled with pride and struts around like a peacock, feeling he is worthy of adoration. DOG has indeed taught him that he is loved, but perhaps too well.”
And the Lord said, “No problem, I will create another companion for Adam who will see him as he is, who will remind him of his limitations, and Adam will know he is not worthy of any adoration.” And God created Cat and Cat would not obey Adam, and Cat would walk right by Adam and pay no attention and Adam was reminded he was not so special.
So Adam learned humility. And God was pleased. And DOG kept wagging his tail. And Adam was greatly improved. And Cat could care less one way or another.

Final Thought: While the fool may say, “There is no God,” the bigger fool believes in God yet pays little attention to Him.
And: “For what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world but loses his own soul.” Mark 8:36
