Finding Hidden Treasure
An age of alienation
Futility grips the mind
Darkness hailed as the light
By prophets of the blind
God is dead or so they say
In schools He has been banned
Fancy words of emptiness
Keep raining on the land
Mighty strongholds bind the weak
Chains of fear and shame
Intoxicated to forget
But all remains the same
Images flicker brightly
Droning out the lies
As rising mist, goes wasted time
Of those with bleary eyes
Babylon is brooding
The nodding fill her pews
Deception lays a subtle trap
For fools who pay their dues
People stare and wonder
Is there anything that’s sure
Burdened souls, weighted down
Life’s meaning lays obscure
Covered faces, layered masks
Hiding all the pain
Frenzied searching for relief
There’s none but in one Name
Searching for a Treasure
Must sell all to possess
A life that’s born of God Himself
Filled with righteousness
Listen closely, hear His voice
Your day is here at last
Leave behind all sin and guilt
Judgment has been passed
It’s time to go, leave Egypt now
Determined in one mind
Gone for good, the bitter past
You’ve left it all behind
Angels sing, filled with joy
When God has birthed a son
Daughters rise, to exult
The battle has been won
