Are you Praying with Kavannah ?: In Hebrew, to pray with “kavannah” means to pray from the heart. True prayer is less about what one says and more about how one says it. Praying with “kavannah” is entering into a real place of longing over what or whom is our object of prayer. Intercession means to share in the heart-burden of another, feeling or sensing in some way or another their pain/distress. Prayer should always come from our heart, not our head. I sent out a special prayer request recently for someone in real crisis. I received this reply back: “My tears and my prayers go forth.” This is praying with kavannah.
We’ve had some great news lately I wanted to share.
- Pastor Sam made it safely to South Africa where he will continue the Harvest School ministry
- The church plant our Thailand facilitator Rolyn Cadiz started at 3 Pagodas, right at the Myanmar border, has skyrocketed in attendance from around 25 in March to now almost 100.
- David Kessner is showing some improvement from his Lyme’s challenges
- Angela Wright has returned from Poland and has been coming to morning prayer.
- I hear Dianne Baskevitch imparted an outstanding message on “Forgiveness” at the well attended women’s breakfast on Saturday.
- Congratulations to seniors Katie Moore, Haley Conley, and Savannah Johnson, all recipients of Little Church scholarships at Friday night’s LBHS Scholarship Foundation Awards.
I know many of you have already seen this photo but I just love it and had to share it again.
I hear Sam has never been so happy even in the midst of all the potential danger he’s faced.
