Becoming like Christ for the sake of others

An Extraordinary Gift 9/25/19

The wife God has given me is the most amazing woman. It’s hard to know where to start when describing Nikki. She’s beautiful, at times stunning, and is getting more and more lovely as she’s getting older. Seven years ago she took up ballroom dancing and now competes pro-am with the best dancers in the world. She sews her own dresses for competitions instead of spending top money for a pre-made one. She’s highly intelligent, a voracious reader and listener to books on tape. She’s a worshiper, a lover of God, just watch her move and sway in rhythm on the piano at a Sunday service. She is adept at six or seven other instruments.

Nikki is a superb artist, creating wonderful jewelry that continually captivates visitors at the Sawdust. All summer long I heard her customers gush over her designs. She has dozens and dozens of return customers. When I first married Nikki she was a ceramist, ending up creating in-tune porcelain wind chimes. There’s hardly anything she can’t do. She’s interesting, mysterious, unpredictable, intuitive, and a fighter for causes. She knows me inside and out and still loves me. Now that’s something.

Nikki is aptly described in the Book of Proverbs…

An excellent wife, who can find?

Her worth is far above jewels.

The heart of her husband trusts in her,

And he will have no lack of gain.

She does him good and not evil

All the days of her life.

She looks for wool and flax,

And works with her hands in delight.

She is like a merchant ship,

        Bringing her food from afar.

-Proverbs 31:10-14

Note
: Nikki and I leave on Saturday for almost three weeks to Washington state and Alaska. So this will be the last prayer letter for a while. Thank you all for your kind comments and responses.

Heads-up: My email has changed to jaygrant1022@outlook.com

Prayer Focus This Week: Please continue to pray for Dedre Bickler-Sines who is slowing making progress from a brain aneurism. And Cynthia Schorr whose son Jesse passed last week. Heartbreaking.

Also: Pray for Pastor Jeff and Steve Krantz this Sunday who will be facilitating Q & A at the Women’s Symposium. And a good signup for the Men’s Retreat, October 4-6.

Much love in Christ sent to all of you.
