What Are You Wearing?
Every morning I look into my closet and must decide what I am going to put on. What I’m going to wear. Am I going to put on a nice shirt, a t-shirt, or a work short? And shall I wear jeans, sweat pants or something dressier? What I put on is important because it affects how I feel. Did you know that every day God encourages us to put something on? It’s spelled out in that beautiful Colossian epistle.
“So, as those chosen of God, holy and beloved, PUT ON a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things, PUT ON love, which is the perfect bond of unity.” Colossians 3:12-14
So I looked at some of Little Church members at our morning Zoom prayer meeting today. As we prayed I could see a few had put on compassion. Another one was wearing kindness, while a couple of others exhibited humility. Everybody was dressed very nicely. In the Spirit. In their hearts. In the depth of their souls.
Tuesday’s Prayer Focus:
- Bobbi Boyd is dealing with a skin cancer issue; undergoing an upcoming procedure; pray for success. “Thank you Lord you are going to take care of our beloved sister”; also pray for provision for Bobbi on all levels. She is enjoying Texas but very much misses Laguna.
- Another special sister in Little Church has a wedding planned in a couple of months and because of the unknowns of the shutdown and social distancing, it’s a stress filled challenge right now.
- Praise that Nick de la Pena has made a wonderful recovery from severe pneumonia. He is a member of Michelle Doherty and Eddie Kitchen’s family. They are absolutely thrilled.
- I continue to thank God that there have been no deaths in Laguna Beach from the coronavirus and few in South Orange County. Nobody I know in Little Church or the Sawdust has been affected.
Finally: “Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb. That’s where the fruit is.”
