Perplexed But Not Despairing
“We have this great treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of power may be of God and not from ourselves. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted but not forsaken; struck down but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus also maybe manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal bodies.” 2 Corinthians 4:7-11
“In this world you will have tribulation but be of good courage, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5,6
When life is difficult it is then we put our trust in God. When we are going through a valley, we hold tightly to God. When trouble comes to one of us, the rest of us pray. We hold up our brother or sister. Stand in the gap.
Help carry their burden. Love on them. Bless them. Comfort them.
Thursday’s Prayer Need – yesterday I asked prayer for a mom, carrying twin boys in the womb, as there appeared to be problems. I am saddened to let you know that both succumbed. The family is heartbroken as they had such hopes for their birth. I am asking all of us to pray for the parents, family and friends who are now grieving. So many of our prayers have happy answers, but sometimes not. It’s perplexing. We don’t understand. A note from the grandmother: “Only the Lord knows why this has happened, but we still trust Him.”
Thank you for praying.
