First Thoughts
I’m looking at this picture, and I am moved, so much so that I begin writing down my first thoughts. Not analyzing. Not thinking long. Just my first thoughts…
“Friends. How I love them. How glorious to worship God side by side. Together. Near each other. In Christ. With faithful companions. A community that stays together no matter what. Heart to heart. Holding each other up. There for each other. The joy of being loved. Real love. Lasting love. A love that endures. That sacrifices. That bears each other’s burdens. Embraces each other. Unashamedly.
And together we listen. Ever so closely. And then we hear. O God what is it? We haven’t heard this before. It’s adoration. Songs from the throne. Melodies of heaven. Transcendent. Capturing the heart. And so we sing. In the Spirit. Engaged. And some even dance. In rhythm. Movement that pushes through barriers. Lifting our hearts to God. A few weep. Happy tears. While others shout for joy.
All along there’s God’s presence. Like rain falling from above. Comforting. Restoring. Beautiful. O how beautiful are the little ones. So beautiful. How beautiful is God. And how beautiful you are.”
