From a 10 year-old Laguna Beach lad: “Everybody needs the Lord. I hope when I get older a lot of people have changed. I hope they go to Jesus, because we need Him in our hearts. Some people think Jesus is some old story that people made up. Well, that is not true! Jesus died for our sins on the cross at Calvary. Jesus is in my heart to stay and I will never leave Him, not for money or not for the world. So whoever is reading this, if you are not saved, ask Jesus into your heart.”
The title of this piece is “Come Into My Heart.” It was written in a Sunday School class over 30 years ago, right here in Laguna. I ran across it last week and I’m sharing it with you. Kids can speak of Christ as effectively and as simply as anyone. I think almost everyone who receives this letter has asked Jesus into their hearts but if you haven’t, why not do it now.
A Special Day: Christians across the world remember believers suffering this coming Sunday, November 1 on the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Greater now than persecution in the first century, Christians are being martyred regularly, mostly by the Islamic State, who in the Middle East daily kill men, women and children who are true to Christ. But persecution is everywhere, even here in America where a high school football coach in Washington is being hounded by the school board for kneeling at mid-field with some of his players at the conclusion of a game. Not even praying, just kneeling in silence for 15 seconds. Here in America.
