Miracles don’t happen every day, but they do happen. Healings are rare but they do take place. God doesn’t always say yes to our prayers, but He does often. Here’s one for you. I’ve known Sylvia Moore 45 years as she was in my first church in the 70’s and now attends Little Church. Sylvia was rear-ended in a bad accident several years ago, suffering a severe whiplash that produced an apricot-sized bulge on the right side of her neck. All these years she has suffered ongoing pain from it.
Last Sunday, Sylvia prayed just as worship started that God would relieve the pain. As she lifted her heart and voice to God, she suddenly realized the pain was gone as was the large lump on her neck. After the service, she walked up to Pastor Jeff and asked him to feel the side of her neck. Did he feel a lump? No, not at all, he said.
Sylvia is understandably thrilled. As one who loves to see the Holy Spirit move in such an amazing way, so am I. To top if off, I met with a young lady this week in our church who was met powerfully by the Spirit of God during a recent alone time.
I encourage all of us to pray for the Holy Spirit to consistently move, both in the Church and in our personal lives. We received that exhortation in Ephesians where Paul wrote that we are to “keep being filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Eph 5:17-21)
Snafu: Following an October trip to Alaska and NW Washington State, I suddenly faced tech problems with my server, Cox at first and then Outlook, when I wanted to start resending the prayer letter. Both have cut back on the number of emails they allow per customer, per day, due to spam issues and mass sendings. 500 people receive the prayer letter so I am affected. Thus you may be receiving the prayer letter on a different day than usual as I seek to make this work. Or you may receive the letter twice. Working on a better solution.
