Needing A Miracle, Monday 4/6/20

Weekly Prayer Message, For Monday, April 6, 2020

 Needing A Miracle

Twelve years. That’s a long time. To live in a hard marriage. Yes, she loved her husband but he was very difficult, insensitive and sometimes rude. But there was no thought of leaving the marriage. She knew God had called her to it. So she persevered. Kept pressing on. Didn’t give up. And prayed.

One day she decided to become more aggressive in her praying. She called a family member and shared her vision, to seek God on another level. “I am asking God for something mighty,” she said. “To dramatically strike my husband with the power of the Holy Spirit. For God to move upon him and shake his life. For something to change.” So the two of them began praying, big prayers. Audacious prayers. And started fasting regularly. They knew a miracle was needed.

And it came. Out of nowhere her husband suddenly apologized. Was contrite. Humble. Remorseful. She’s never seen him like that. And then he said, “Had you treated me the way I’ve treated you, I would have left a long time ago.” She was stunned. But not totally surprised. For she knew what God could do when you seek Him and pray with a whole heart. When you fast. And intercede fearlessly and boldly. She understood that with God, anything is possible.

** Such a heartwarming story. I’m so proud of her. So in the face of this coronavirus upheaval, keep praying. Stay positive. Persevere. It will make a difference. I promise, because God promises.

New YouTube Channel: My wife has been encouraging me for a while to start a YouTube channel. So with the wonderful help of Nikki’s dance instructor, Alexey, the channel has begun. This gives me a place to do what I most love – teach, encourage and give hope. Below, the link to my 2nd video . Most will be relatively short, under 10 minutes.

Scripture: Revelation Chapter 5; an incredibly inspiring chapter, highlighted by the Lion from the tribe of Judah (Jesus), the only one able to break the seals of the Scroll. Verse 8 is a foundational verse to Upper Room prayer where the hosts of heaven are described as holding a harp in one hand and golden bowls of incense in the other, the prayers of the saints. The harp represents worship, the bowls prayer, and gives us the revelation that true prayer is a combination of both – worship and supplication. It’s what creates joy when we pray.

Crucial Prayers This Week:

  • All the predictions are the coronavirus peak is now upon us, that there will be massive numbers becoming ill. Pray for the reverse, a sudden and unexpected diminishing of cases.
  • Protection and safety for all those we love.
  • Full recovery for Monica Thompson’s son Cole, living in New York City, battling COVID-19. From Monica: “Praise. Today is the first day he feels much better. And looks better on Facetime. I feel immensely relieved.”
  • Pray for Randi Self, a pilot in Tennessee and family member of Kristen Wilson, who is very ill with the virus, taking a turn for the worse today.
  • Also complete recovery for Bill Devin’s daughter Aubrey, age 34, from the virus. From Bill: “She is feeling almost well and sleeping more than normal. And she’s now walking every day.”
  • The right moving-forward program for a young man named Jamie, just out of prison.

Sidewalk Art spotted on Catalina Street here in Laguna. Very cool.

From a Friend: “I have never felt more at peace. The joy of the Lord is my strength, my song. He’s in control and He will be glorified. I just keep envisioning Him in white, bronze face on the throne, with the rainbow over His head. A heavenly vision of our righteous kingdom to come.”

Finally: Remember to put the full armor of God on every day (Ephesians 6:10-18).You’ll be glad you did.

Hold tightly to God everyone. Know how much He loves you…Pastor Jay
