Time to Read 1st Peter
Sharing a message sent to me by my good friend and brother Tom Ravensberg who has traveled extensively with me around the world – Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Philippines, Zambia, and Singapore. He now lives in Idaho. He sent me the email below, two days after Christmas last year, weeks before the coronavirus crisis.
Hello Jay,
I have begun to think that we are in for difficult years from here on out. The devil is using an all-out attack on everything that we know to be sacred and good, to wear down the saints.
We must determine in our hearts and minds to place God’s glory and His eternal purposes above our own fears, earthly desires and insecurities. The devil is attacking on every front and the Lord is asking us to stand firm and pray like never before. Our faith is being tested, but as we stand strong we overcome the world .
We must believe the Word of God and wait patiently like the prophets of old. We must rebuke fear and dismiss the ranting and raving of the devil’s minions that is intended to shake our faith in Christ’s promises.
He is coming again. His kingdom will reign over all the earth. And after we have suffered a little while, the God of all grace who called us to eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish us.
This is a good time for the saints to re-read the first epistle of Peter. Your brother in Christ, Tom
Wednesday’s Prayer Needs…

- More info on a request from yesterday: Pray for (no name, privacy), her husband, and 4 (adult) children. She has lived with Leukemia for years and done very well. She has recently been diagnosed with colorectal cancer, along with tumors on her lungs and liver. She is beginning very aggressive treatment, chemo & radiation beginning tomorrow. She doesn’t know the Lord. Pray for her salvation.
