Advent: Peace

Jay Grant’s message during Advent on Peace

“For unto us a child is born, a Son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulders, and His Name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and of peace there will be no end. He will rule with justice and righteousness from the throne of David, to establish and uphold His kingdom forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will accomplish this.”  Isaiah 9:6-7

“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He causes me to lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake.”  Psalm 23:1,2

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27

“The crowd began attacking Paul and Silas and the officials tore their clothes off them and commanded they be beaten with rods. And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw Paul and Silas into prison, and the jailer put them in a dungeon and fastened their feet in stocks. About midnight Paul and Silas began praying and singing hymns to God and all the other prisoners were listening to them.”  Acts 16:22-25

Final Word: When there appears to be no hope. When circumstances seem impossible. When you think you’re at the end and can bear no more. It’s then that God does His greatest work. All God asks is that you pray and draw your heart to Him.

“Be anxious for nothing but in everything with prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6,7
