Parable of “The Good and Bad Tree”
Luke 6:43-45
“A good tree cannot bear bad fruit nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. A tree is identified by the fruit it produces. Figs never grow on thorn-bushes nor grapes from a briar plant. A good person produces good deeds from a good heart and an evil person produces evil deeds from an evil heart. Out of the abundance of the heart, one will speak.”
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22,23
Parable of “Followers Who Do Not Really Follow” or “Building a Strong Foundation in Your Life”
Luke 6:46-49
“Why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not obey me? I will tell what it is like when someone comes to Me, listens to my teachings, and lives them out. They are like a person who builds a house on a strong foundation, upon a solid rock, and when storms and floods arose, and the torrent broke against that house, it stood firm, because it had been so well built.
But the one who hears my teachings and does not practice them, is like the person who built a house on the ground without any foundation, and when the torrent burst against the house, it collapsed and fell apart, and the ruin of that house was great.”
